Scott Waldroff

Architect

Waldroff

Scott Waldroff joined SCHWEIZER WALDROFF ARCHITECTS, INC. in 1986. He was made a director and shareholder of the corporation in 1989.

Prior to joining the firm and upon graduation from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Design in 1981, Mr. Waldroff began his architectural internship with the international firm, Morris Architects (then Morris/Aubry Architects) in Houston, Texas. His experience there included twelve months in the Medical Production Division and fourteen months in the Building Design Division under the guidance of Eugene Aubry, FAIA. He then moved to California in 1984 to pursue his masters degree at California Polytechnic Institute in San Louis Obispo while continuing his architecture internship with sole practitioner; Don Cutter (respectfully known as Skeeter) who specialized in residential passive solar architecture. The contrasting experience of these two firms was the groundwork that allows Mr. Waldroff to practice architecture today with sensitivity to small or large-scale projects.

While in graduate school, Mr. Waldroff received his license to practice architecture in California. Upon completion of his thesis on Extended Family Housing Design, Mr. Waldroff graduated from Cal Poly in 1986 and moved back to his home state of Florida to join his friend and former classmate Kevin Schweizer, along with Garth Schweizer and Tamara Schweizer Simms, in their newly formed company Integrated Design Group, (later changed to SCHWEIZER SCHWEIZER WALDROFF DESIGN GROUP). In 1991, he received his license to practice architecture in Florida. In 2000, Kevin Schweizer and Scott Waldroff relocated their business to New Smyrna Beach, Florida to practice under the name SCHWEIZER WALDROFF ARCHITECTS, INC.

Mr. Waldroff is involved in all aspects of the company's daily operation from management to design, production and construction administration as well as marketing and contract negotiations. Major projects under his supervision include the Forest Lake Academy Gymnasium, the Mary Jean Mitchell Green Plaza at Rollins College, miscellaneous work for Boston Whaler (Edgewater), Orange County Fire Stations 70, 71, 33 & 43, New Smyrna Beach Fire Stations 50, 51, 52 & 53, Volusia County Beach Safety Lifeguard Head Quarters, as well as numerous religious, commercial and residential projects throughout Central Florida.

Scott Waldroff was born July 4th 1959. He is married to Mary Bouterse Waldroff. Together they have two children Maia and Keena.
